|

I have bought another refurb, this time a GO 520 as we already have a 720 and don't need two with European maps on. Just received it today but purchased about 7 days ago.
My question is does the 30 days kick in from the first connection to HOME on the PC? I am guessing it does, and if that is the case when is the expected next map update for UK and ROI?
The 520 is working on 715.1703 at present and Navcore 7.221
Oh sorry, another question just entered my head. What version higher than 8.0 would you recommend given the issues with NAVCORE?
And how would I install the new Navcore now if I want to wait for a new map update before connecting via HOME and triggering my 30 days?
Already have the camera database loaded and voices set up - thanks again to the team for this system that may save me points ![Very Happy](modules/Forums/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif) |

With the map version you have installed I wouldn't bother updating the Navcore UNLESS you are looking to update the map as the newer Navcore offers nothing of much use without a newer map.
As for a new map release, no one outside of TomTom will have an idea as to when this will take place, Late August is my guess so it might be within your 30 day period, but I would only push this to 30 days past the date on the invoice you have for the device, if LMG fails to work and TT request a scan of the invoice and its outside the 30 day window you will probably get nothing - Mike |

Thanks for the great advice Mike, I'll just let it run with the current navcore until I am ready to do the LMG update. I never considered it might fail the update and then TT might refuse if the order date was over 30 days. I'm a bit miffed as the order took 11 days to get here and last time only three, so my cut off date is now 17 Aug based on the invoice.
If I want to take advantage of the IQ and lane guidance with the latest map update is there a way to update the navcore to a ver 8.XXX that is devoid of some of the main problems e.g. stuttering and low volume? |

The latest Navcore doesn't suffer from stuttering although you might find the volume slightly lower than with the current Navcore you are using, only marginal though.
You need a v8,xx map to get IQ Routes/ Reality view, Lane Assist etc, to get this you will have to update to the latest Navcore prior to using LMG, just make sure you have a full Windows Explorer backup of the device BEFOREyou start messing around with the device - Mike |

Cheers Mike
First thing I did when it came out of the box was connect it to the PC and do a complete backup, then another to my Network Attached Storage (NAS) box to be sure I don't lose anything.
I'll play the waiting game now for a while ![Wink](modules/Forums/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif) |

According to some people it's connecting to the PC, not HOME that starts your 30 days for the LMG. The theory is that the date is recorded somewhere on the device. _________________ TT Go Essential |

Warning!! I have to disagree with Mike on this. Not surprising, because this volume fault is very variable - Mike says no problem, I say it's dreadful. For me the lower volume is NOT slight, it's too low for me to be able to use my 920 with the latest Navcore, so I am using an earlier version.
Rather hit and miss, I'm afraid. _________________ Dennis
