Quickest or shortest route

Is there anyway to tell Tom Tom to direct you the shortest route as appose to the quickest route.

Go to map mode, press the A->B icon, selec Type, select "Shortest"

But be aware that as soon as you force it to recalculate it falls back to "quickest" That's a long standing bug that still hasn't been resolved.

I would of thought it would be a standard feature
