POIs appear on the map although I deleted them.

I have a One New Edition and had Petrol as a POI category downloaded from the free POIs for all petrol stations some time ago. I recently downloaded the updated POI but this was now called Fuel as a category. I removed the OV2 files for Petrol using Explorer but the icons still appear on the map along with the new Fuel category icon.
'I know' I should have deleted using the Tom Tom menus - DOH!
How can I now clear them from the map please?

Are you now seeing the built-in TT POI called Petrol Station? Does it have a Black/White icon?

If so, it is part of the file poi.dat, and it can just be ignored.

Yes it was the TT POI Petrol Station icon.
I eventually found it in the 'show icons on the map' menu item and unticked it.
