|
|
Hi Guys.
Just signed up to the TomTom traffic reports and connected my TomTom to my mobile via bluethooth. My problem is every time I switch the TomTom on and enter a route the TomTom will reboot itself about 5mins into the journey. Is this normal !!!, have I done something wrong and if so can I fix it.
Thanks.

You either have a corrupt gnsdata file or a corrupy mapsettings.cfg.
Do a full windows explorer backup and then try and delete these files from the device. If you can't because Windoze complains that the file is in use then it is corrupt. At this point format and reload the backup apart from that file - it will get recreated on boot up.
A hard reset and a clearflash wouldn't go amiss either. |

What does the gnsdata file contain?
Mine has always done this although it is definetly related to traffic updates. It normally reboots seconds after downloading traffic updates for the first time and the problem has persisted over firmware upgrades, resetting settings and using the clear flash tool. |

How much spare space do you have on the 700?
If you have a lot of stuff there and haven't got any "spare" then the GO will have nowhere to write its temporary files. This will usually cause a reboot.
I wanted to keep my 700 but ran out of memory space, so I upgraded the memory: http://web.me.com/hahnenuk/TomTom/Go700_CFCard.html _________________ TTGO 700 (dead)

gnsdata is related to traffic info - it gets created when you use the RDS-TMC or the GPRS traffic service. It can safely be deleted, as it will then get recreated on boot. |
