Never thought about it before but my son has gone to Greece and he wanted to borrow my TT720...but no maps of Greece. Last time I checked Greece was in the EU...and part of Europe...how come no maps on the 720 ? _________________ TomTom 720

The TomTom web site describes the European map coverage as:
Quote:
Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Monaco, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Republic of Ireland, San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the Netherlands, United Kingdom and Vatican City.
Also including the connecting roads of Albania, Belarus, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Moldavia, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Ukraine and the Russian Federation.
No mention of Greece (and I also wonder whether they mean Moldavia or Moldova?). _________________ Garmin DriveSmart 50 LMT-D

You can buy a 73% coverage map of Greece but at £39.99 this is bordering on taking the pee......Greece IS very definitely in Europe and should be part of the western europe maps...even at that percentage _________________ TomTom 720

Don't tell a Greek that......the ones I know consider themselves to be firmly in western europe...as opposed to Eastern Europe......for obvious reasons. But I know what you mean.
But in any case the point is that it should be in one of the Europe packages but I was just interested to know why Greece has been missed out for so long anyway. Given its one of the most popular holiday destinations its curious. It seems to have been almost ignored
Maybe an issue with seamless road connections with other WE countries ? _________________ TomTom 720

This question pops up about twice a year but is a very valid one. It's the reason why I keep an old copy of Destinator handy and an old PDA in service as I have visited Athens for business.
If it's any consolation the whole of Ireland was absolutely dire up until the last few years and that's much closer to home for us 'Northerners'. _________________ Tom Tom GO 720

Ireland was always an appalling omission as well. I understand the lots of small roads, more difficult to plot (?), but getting around is still valid. Greece , away from the cities and main towns, is an amazing rat run of small and in many cases single track roads. But even covarage of connections between towns and resorts would be of benefit. i note teh map TT sell is only 73% coverage...which is what I would expect to be fair given the above problem.
Should still be included in one of the main European packages though _________________ TomTom 720
