|
|
Does anybody know if this link here will charge a TT one v4? I am planning to give my One to my sister who will use it in a tank bag on a motorbike, possibly just to look at or putting a cheap lidl motorbike comms system by the speaker.
As far as I was aware the mini usb charger gives out 5v, but the AA battery that you put in is only 1.2v??
Any ideas/comments
Thanks

That would not work. As you surmise, you need 5v. There are external battery solutions that would work but it would be easier to wire in a cigar socket to a 12v fused supply on the bike and plug into that using the original charger? _________________ Darren Griffin |

I use a U2o iWalk 5400 usb charger/battery extender. They also do a smaller capacity version HERE (opens in a new window).
Althought I use it for my iPod it can also power and recharge my TomTom |

How long can your TT run off the U2o 5400? |

If the TomTom and U2O pack were fully charged I would expect around seven hours based on the following:
TomTom internal battery should offer around 2 hours
U2O pack is 2,5 times the internal cell capacity so 5 hours from that.
Obviously other factors such as screen brightness and volume levels etc will have a bearing on the total time you get from the combination, but I would have thought fitting a Ciggy lighter socket to the bike via a fuse is the best bet - Mike |

Just as Mike says above
A bit cheaper and better details HERE
Did use this company about 2 years ago, delivery was okay. But can't say if they are still as good. |
