|
|
Hi
I have just purchased the TomTom BlueTooth Navigator 3 and I thought the product included a cigarette lighter power source for the BT device and my IPAQ 4150. But it only seems to include a lead to power the BT device.
Where can I get a cigarette lighter cable that will power both of my devices ?
Thanks

you can either consider an active mount for the iPAQ (which will include the adapter, and also a socket for the BT receiver, or you simply get a Y-cable. _________________ Lutz

Hi
Thanks for the info, but I am unsure as to what cradle or Y-cable I need. Looking at the brodit active cradle (968591) it doesn't seem from the pictures that it has a RJ socket to plug the BT Receiver charging cable into. Is that right or does the picture not show it ?
If I go for the Y-Cable where can I get one of those from, do you know of part numbers? Do all IPAQs share the same connector, or do I have to specify a 4150.
Sorry for all the question but I want to make sure I order the right kit.
Thanks

968591 just has a charger.
Instead, try Brodit 849591, which replicates the socket on the bottom of the iPAQ on the bottom of the cradle. Instead of connecting your charger/GPS cable directly to the iPAQ, you connect it to the cradle instead. Will that do?

That is an option but the problem I have is that the TT BT Nav 3 does not come with a car charger anymore. I would like a setup that the TT BT reviewers seem to have got when they reviewed the system last year. If you look at the link below, you can see that a charger that would power the IPAQ and the BT receiver was in the box.

The review on Global Positioning Systems also shows the same setup

TomTom don't seem to supply a Car kit for my IPAQ 4150 either.
Do TomTom still supply this on its own or does somebody else supply a similar setup.
Thanks

I'm pretty sure there is a TomTom car kit for the iPAQ 4150 coming very shortly - globalpositioningsystems.co.uk say "Late April - advance orders welcome". Obviously it's now very early May - but it looks like availability may be imminent.
TomTom have apparently changed their Bluetooth GPS hardware - the old hardware had reliability issues for some.

Thanks for the information.
I see that globalpositioningsystems.co.uk also have a TomTom cigarette lighter cable (P1716) as well, I think that might be what I am after, I could then use a Brodit cardle.

For anyone who needs a similar setup, I have brought some cables from PC-Mobile, who I must say have been very impressive. They answer emails within hours and I ordered the stuff Wednesday 12.00 and it was delivered 8.30 Thursday morning.
I brought the following
CKUC - USB Charger and 5v car adapter to power the 4150 via its Jack Adapter
PPY2 DC Power Y Cable to allow me to power the TomTom BT Receiver at the same time as IPAQ
Paid in Dollars as well, so good prices.
