|

Hi,
For the last few months the tomtom logo is missing from the screen when I start the device. It is now just a plain white screen for a few seconds, then the tt one behaves normally.
The only time I can get the logo to appear is if I remove the SD card, replace it and then start the device.
It happened when I had a problem with an update from tt. It locked my device and following advice from the forum I removed some of the files on the devise.
It's not a big deal but Ive seen some of the splash screens you can dload to replace the tt logo (actually I want to design my own) I guess if the original logo wont work neither will my own.
Its a tomtom one ver 2.
Any ideas?
Thanks Alan. |

When you say: "I guess if the original logo wont work neither will my own"
that's where you're wrong.
There is no built-in logo for startup (although there is one for a complete re-boot), there's only a standard splashscreen file. If you delete that (which you would have done) then you get a white screen on startup.
All you need to do is put one on and it will work.
The original ones are all available from TomTom HERE so if you want to make your own, it's easiest to use one of those as a template to get the size right (if your size is wrong it just won't show).
Assuming your ONE is not a widescreen model you need the standard sized files (320 x 240 pixels) named "splash.bmp" |

Thanks Andy,
That worked I now have my own splash screen.
The original splash.bmp was still on the sd card. It must have been corrupted somehow. I 1st d loaded the original from TT. Replaced the corrupt one and it worked 1st time.
Then quickly changed one of my photos into the same format and hey presto!!
Cheers Alan. |
