|
|
I was using a Samsung SGH E250 phone which I used successfully on my TomTom GO 70101 and 520.
I have now tried setting iy up on my TomTomGO 720 and have immedialy had problems.
When I download numbers to the TomTom all I get are the numbers but no names!
It works OK with other Bluetooth phones!
Anyone else come across this and, if so, can they advise? _________________ Furry Fred

Use Windows Explorer to locate the Contacts folder and within it is a file named contacts.txt copy this to your PC then use NotePad or WordPad on the PC to edit the file correcting the errors, copy the file back to the contacts folder on the device - Mike |

The new firmware is supposed to fix this issue too. |

Thanks Mike and Matthew
The upgrade and then pulling down the numbers again worked perfectly _________________ Furry Fred

My 740 has the same problem, numbers imported with no names from a Blackberry 8330. Had hoped 8.350 would correct it, but that app version is no longer being offered for my 740. I'll try Mike's advice and see if it works. _________________ Garmin 1695 / 255 / 760 w/MSN - Droid w/Google nav + Navigon - Navigon 8100T - Dakota10 - GPSMap76C - GeoMate Jr. |

It should be...
(unless they've found problem and temporarily removed it, but I've not heard of that happening) |

8.350 solved the phonebook problem on my Blackberry 8310. (& Go 540) |

Andy, I thought so too. Tried to update my 740 this morning. No app available. Checked for my 930, available, downloaded, no issues at all. Checked again for my 740. . . nothing. A call to support confirmed they pulled it. Available only for the x20/x30's, at least in North America. _________________ Garmin 1695 / 255 / 760 w/MSN - Droid w/Google nav + Navigon - Navigon 8100T - Dakota10 - GPSMap76C - GeoMate Jr. |

Whoops I meant to reply to my own message to say "It works" but I edited the original by mistake.
The gist of what I originally said was:
As an experiment, I will try deleting my 940's v8.350 system files and will see if Home will download them again for me in the UK.
Well I did, and it worked fine.
So it looks like only a US issue (unless the 940 is a different case from the 740?)

Hopefully I can get some additional details on whys and whatfors on Monday. Two TT support people confirmed that 8.350 should not be used with NA740's and is no longer offered via TTHome. But that's all I know. _________________ Garmin 1695 / 255 / 760 w/MSN - Droid w/Google nav + Navigon - Navigon 8100T - Dakota10 - GPSMap76C - GeoMate Jr. |
