There is no physical difference in the device they are exactly the same both made by Emtac. The socket one has a Socket logo on the antenna.
The difference is with the supplied accessories. Originally the Emtac came with a mains power adapter, a CD with software aand manual and a leather case. The Socket version came with a car charger and nothing else. I am not sure what the Socket version comes with now. _________________ Mike Barrett |

The socket I got from Expansys recently came with car charger with y adaptor for powering the Socket and the Pocket PC and also the leather case with a belt hook/loop. There was no CD or manual but you can download Crux View from the Emtac website and the manuals are there in PDF format. However, I didn't actually need them as the thing worked with TTN and Memory Map straight out of the box. |

Both messages were most reassuring, so now only Royal Mail stands between moi and navigational heaven. _________________ Dickbo |

Is it possible to use a mains adapter for the Globalsat BT-308 with a Socket BT GPS or can I purchase the mains adapter for the socket GPS separately? |

Yes you can, or you can just use a regular iPAQ desk charger. |
