Google Maps - north up?

I sometimes use GoogleMaps to aid in geocaching. Presumably when a Google map is displayed, it is displayed with north up. But is that true north or magnetic north? Google doesn't seem to have anything to say about it, or to respond to my query.

Similarly, when a map is displayed on my Garmin GPSMap60, which north is up (assuming I set it for north up)?

Here in New England, declination is as much as 20 degrees - so it makes a difference.

Google Earth's Compass Rose is oriented to True or Geographic North.

Have a look at the support pages of GE.

Many thanks, Rayle. My searches did not turn up the link you listed, probably because I was concentrating on Google Maps rather than Google Earth. But it seems reasonable that Google would be consistent, so I think my question is answered.
