Hi Guys
Are TomTom raising the Price of there Live service
On there website it is shown as £7.99 a month
Just had an e.mail from them that says €9.95 which is £9.19.
So is this e.mail in error or are they upping the price.
Mind you in the same e.mail they are offering 6 & 12 months pre paid for the same €59.95

I just saw this email too and I'm a bit cross about it. There was no mention of prepaying when I was warned my live trial was coming to an end so I signed up for the monthly option at £8.95 a month - now I could have had the 12 months prepaid much more cheaply |

Yep
At 59 Euros for 12 months I would have gone for it
At £7.99 a month I will stick with traffic reports on the radio
Just tried all the links in the e.mail and all 3 are dead. |

Same story for me.... trial running out in a few days, so signed up for monthly subscription earlier this week... today that email arrives with prices in euros... all links dead.
Pretty p*ss poor marketing IMHO. |

I received the same email, and got all excited, but....
I clicked on the email link, that inturns takes you to a WEB page.
First worry is there's no mention of the discount and pricing is in pounds not euros. Clicking on the Renew Now icon forces you to verify the version of Home and you must have your TomTom connected. Eventually you end up at the Home purchase screen, and guess what...... yes.... you guessed.... no sign of the wonderful discounts, just the normal £7.99 subscription.
As normal another well tested mail shot ! ! ! |

Looks like they are thinking of offering an annual subscription as an alternative to the monthly one. And i'm sure the 12 month sub will be cheaper than 12 individual subscriptions!
I never got an email and I have a 940! _________________ Tomtom GO 1005 LIVE

I've also received the email clicking on on any of the links brings up the following message.
"Unfortunately you have received this e-mail from us that is not relevant to you. We kindly request you to ignore this e-mail"
Glad to see nothing changes at TomTom!

If the email is not relevant to the recipients, just who is it relevant to? Is it just the UK market who will be paying the full price with the discounted price for the rest of Europe? |

Anyone else noticed that the 6 month subscription costs more than 6 * 1 month? |

Copied from another thread I just replied to:
Looks like a major SNAFU at TomTom. Who this email was intended for we don't know but this and another email sent out today was a mistake. I've just received this from TT:
Quote: | Dear customer,
Unfortunately you have received an e-mail from us about
Live Services that is not relevant to you.
We kindly request you to ignore this e-mail.
Our apologies for any inconvenience caused,
The TomTom team |

Received the same apologie email, as above who was this email intended for, looks like another example of TomTom attempting to rip off UK customers.
All I can suggest is us UK customers do not renew our subscription and hopefully they will offer similar subscription offer if sales are low. |

Indeed. I think many people will be in that boat anyway though.
I'm certainly not renewing based on the quality of service I've received in my trial period for 8 quid a month. I would probably renew for 50 quid a year though.
TomTom take note! |

No doubt the email was meant for another market that we here in the UK subsidise with our over inflated "UK Prices". |
