Hi,

I have just got a TTN3. How do I connect it to my XDA2...?

OK I did think about this before buying the gadget, but now I'm starting to question my thinking.

The original plan was to get the TT Car Kit for for the XDA, but I haven't yet been able to confirm whether it will work with my XDA2. (I know the data/powerr cable is the same, but will it physically fit?)

Assuming that is a non-starter, is the cable on the TTN3 GRP receiver a standard connector? Are there other manufacturers who make a connector that would link the TTN3 to my XDA2, and if so who sells them?

TIA

Paul

You got a TTN3? Just the software, or the hardware as well? Serial or BT receiver?

You have got TTN3 FOR XDA2?
Then what was the question?
If you have not got the XDA2 cable then you should get it from Tom Tom.

I am not quite sure about this but you should be able to get a car kit.
Whether XDA1 one will work or you need one specially for XDA2 I do not know.

The TTN3 come with the GPS 'mouse' and a CD. There is no connector for the PDA.

The box explicitly states that it is compatible with the XDA2, so I assume there is a way to connect it. It would be reasonable for TT to supply such a connector, but they don't specifically say so (and getting support from them is like getting blood out of a stone!)

As I said, I have found one place that suggested that the XDA2 would work with the TT XDA car kit, I'm just trying to confirm this before I buy one.

cheers

That is very unusual.
It should have come with at least one PDA cable of your choice.

Apparently, if you buy the TTN3 from TT, they include a car kit (for £266), so there must be one for the XDA2, I just haven't been able to get it confirmed.

To be fair to TT, I was expecting to have to buy the PDA cable/holder seperately - TT do say you have to. I just assumed it would be simple matter to find one that would fit the XDA2.

Having said that, I've found one online company that is claiming to sell the TT car 'Holder' for the XDA/XDA2 (even though TT don't include it in their compatability list). Also, the Seidio G2500 GPS for the XDA2 was released last week, so that too is a possibility, if I can find it for sale.....

cheers
