I thought you might be interested to know that I have had some good success at uploading satmap tracks and geo-locating photos at everytrail.com
e.g. http://www.everytrail.com/view_trip.php?trip_id=119003
I use http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/ to map the track, then click to upload to everytrail, where you can upload photos that automatically geo-locate by matching up the track and photo times.
Happy to supply detailed instructions if anyone's interested

Welcome to the forum thats a neat way to index pictures and walk data so any additional information would be very handy and most welcome, also have you seen/ tried the SatMap route planner/ route share system as yet? - It is only currently in Beta, but you can still use it should you want to give it a try This Thread offers the details for access - Mike |

Just done another walk and uploaded it with some photos, so here's a go at instructions:
1. Convert your Trail to a Track using the Routes menu on the Satmap
2. Open SatSync and look for a file called My Track nn Raw.gpx (highest number = most recent for me), and copy this to your PC using the menu or drag and drop
3. Open http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/ and upload the file you just copied (click on browse, choose the file and then click on Go!)
4. Make sure you're happy with the map produced that has been produced in a new window. (Sometimes I need to edit the gpx file to delete strange segments, and sometimes I get a lots of waypoint markers and need to edit the gpsvisualizer options to turn them off)
5. Click on the link just above the map, to send to EveryTrail.com
6. Now you can add photos etc at EveryTrail.com
I have struggled with various steps in the past, so if you are having problems let me know and I'll try to help.
