|
|
I have purchased a brand new Tom Tom One XL 330 in canada. I must say that I am very impressed with this unit. I have installed Tom Tom Home v2.5 on my laptop which is running Win XP with SP3. he problem is that when i try to run Tom Tom Home V2.5 i get the following error message:
HOMERuntime.exe failed with error 0: proces failed to startup correctly.
If this problem presists, please reinstall from : http://www.tomtom.com/home
I have e-mailed tom tom but they have not replied.
I have done the following myself to rectify the problem but have not be successful:
Uninstalled it many times and reinstalled it without any success.I have also tried it without my CA Antivirus and ZoneAlarm firewall but that has not helped either.
Installed Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 and 2008 Redistribution packs and even they have not been able to fix this problem.
Can somebody please help me with this problem |

Are you installing with Administrative rights?
Try and run it as an Administrator.
These issues are frequently caused by user rights to where the program is installed to and which directory the user files are stored in. _________________ Drivelux |

Tom Tom Home has been installed using Administrative rights and has been set to run under these rights. Yet it still comes up with the same error. |

Goto Control Panel, Add/Remove programs and see whether you have any reference to .NET FRAMEWORK installed. If not, goto this site for it, dl and install. Then try installation of Home again. _________________ David |

Thanks for the advice. I have been to my control panel and in Add/Remove programs I have Microsoft .Net Framework 1.1 and 2.0 installed. |

TomTom have a page for Home errors here.
But for your error message, they say:
Quote: | HOMERuntime.exe errors
These errors can have various causes.
We recommend that you contact TomTom Customer Support for assistance. Click here to see how to contact Customer Support: www.tomtom.com/support/support.php?ID=2 |
Ringing them on 08451 610009 (Monday - Friday: 8:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.) is always a better bet than emailing, in my experience. |

Are you logged on as a member of the local administrator group whilst installing and running? |

I have visited the TomTom page for Home error messages and for the HomeRuntime it says :
"These errors can have various causes.

I log onto windows as the administrator and always have all of the administrator rights enable while installing or running programs such as TomTom Home. |
