I may have missed this but I have been trying to use the Sygic POI Convertor to convert the speed camera files from here into the UPI format McGuider works. I am being hampered because the files in the ASC and CSV format are all comma delimited (which confuses the convertor). Without me downloading loads of other formats, does anyone know if any of them are in a tab delimited text format?
The main reason for trying to use the Sygic convertor is down to the problem MavAV had with his own POI files convertered using ov2upi. The fix was to convert them using Sygics convertor from tab delimited txt files. |

Do you have Excel?
If so, Open the File with Excel and then Save as Text (Tab Delimited)(*.txt). Just change the extension to .CSV or .ASC
Word, and some other wordprocessing applications, will also let you search for commas, and replace them with a Tab. _________________ Richard

I've been doing this, but since I use the speed zoned files it takes quite a while to through them all. The .txt extension is also good because that is what the POI convertor expects.
The other issue then is the POI convertor doesn't all batch processing of files. Thats one for Sygic not here though. |

No in Excel. In terms of time difference there isn't much difference between the word and excel methods. The problem is more the amount of files to change (currently 30 for speed zoned).
I will also be contacting Sygic to ask for bulk conversion options to be made available in their convertor (as well as support for comma and tab delimiting). The main issue is likely to be the graphic to be associated with the upi file. It appears the file name to use is referenced in the upi file itself. |
