I have just bought a TomTom One XL Classic (whatever classic means). There is an SD slot and I have tried to put a 2GB SD card in but it does not recognise it. There is no sign of it in TomTom Home either. Any ideas as to what the problem is?
Thanks

Hi Brian,
Is it the TomTom or the PC when you hook up which is not recognising the SD card?
First thing i would do, is to try other SD cards in the tomtom to see if they work, AND try the 2gb SD card in another device or card reader to see if it work on other things.
This will help to pinpoint the problem further.

The One XL Classic needs all the files to be on the card, it will boot from the card when inserted to the device IF the files/ folders from the device are present, otherwise it will simply ignore the SD card. The One XL cannot share the built in memory and SD card like the x20/ x30 range can.
Copy the One XL's memory contents to the PC then use a card reader to copy the files/ folders on to the memory card - Mike |
