I have been updating my Navman N20 with you database for a few months now, however I found that I have to manually change all the asc files to csv before I can load them. Is there an easier way, it just means I dont update as often as I would like to because it takes quite a long time. I like to have all the different speeds separately. The Smart ST will not allow me to change the file type as per your instructions.
Thanks |

seems odd that smart st will not let you input *.* in the file name field?
anyway, you could always just download the 'Other - CSV' file instead? it will still work.

Quote: | Item |#4 in the instructions reads: - Click FILE | OPEN and point to the folder where you extracted the ASC files , e.g. C:\Temp\POCKETGPS_UK_GATSO.ASC
Note: Newer versions of the software, by default, ask for 'Files of type: CSV Files (*.csv)' You might have to put *.* or *.asc and press 'Open' in the File Name window in order to show the asc files. |
The quote above is what you should be doing...are you actually typing the *.* into the File Name window to open the asc file as csv? I have an N20 and have no difficulty in letting the asc files change to csv using this method both on my PC with Win XP or on my laptop with Vista.
Not that it really matters, but what POIs are you using? UK Consolidated by type?
Perhaps, if you could write down exactly what you are doing we might be able to spot a clue to help you. _________________ Gee-Pee
