Instructions on P19 of the manual are incorrect, but I have sorted that out, but I can only delete 1 at a time.
I recon to clear the lot will take about 12 hours.
Any help appreciated.

Hi Tony,
I don't have a GPS60 to hand, but the process is probably similar to my GPS76 which is:
MENU : MENU : highlight POINTS : ENTER : highlight WAYPOINTS : ENTER : (ENTER : highlight typical waypoint) : MENU
which should give you a choice of (among others): Delete Waypoint, Delete By Symbol, Delete All.
If you don't want to Delete All (or all of a Symbol) then you need to transfer all Waypoints to a PC (e.g. using Mapsource), edit the list on the PC and restore to the (cleared) GPS.
