I have spent some time today after downloading the speed camera file trying to download the POI database for Australia and am having no luck. Even if only select Australia, hit refresh and then select all the POI categories, the ZIP file contains UK POIs only....... :-(
Can anyone help me in telling me if
a. There is a POI database file to download for Australia
b. How the zip file is converted into / overwrites the POI.DAT file on the device, given that the speed cameras and POI are in separate folders.
Appreciate the help

Hi, and welcome.
When you ticked Auistralia, did you untick United Kingdom?
Countries can be combined, if you tick multiple countries.
a: Yes there are entries under Australia. At the moment it only stands at 54 locations.
b: The downloaded file is unzipped and the resultant OV2 and BMP files are copied to the Map Folder. It does not replace/overwrite the poi.dat file.
You do the same as when loading the PGPSW camera files.
Be careful of how many categories you download at one time, although this shouldn't be a problem with the Australia set yet. There is a limit of how much can be processed in the OV2 format. _________________ Richard

Hi Richard
Thanks for your note and welcome. Loading it into the map database did the trick.
FYI, when I purchased my Australian map for my Tom Tom 910, it came pre loaded with a large amount (1000s) of POIs which I assume are the contents of the POI.DAT file, so this file has provided a small, but welcome addition
Cheers
