tom tom text to speech

Me again, I have just got my tom tom running from the memory card for more space so I could install the computer voices so I could use text to speech. It says in home that if my unit cant use it I cant load it but the voice went on but I cannot select it, so I cannot get the text/speech to work. should it or shouldn't it work. Thanks for all the help so far.

I assume you are UK based rather than US? - the TomTom One XL you have doesn't support TTS when European based, only certain US spec devices will support the excellent TTS voices - Mike
