According to the help pane, smart zoom ought to work regardless of having a route active. Has anyone seen it actually work with no route? _________________ Mio C710 on MioMap 3.3 |

Yes, I have a 710, and smart zoom does work without a route, although it seems to be based on speed, as it has nothing else to go on. You must not have the map tilted to display 2D though. |

Sorry, not with you there. With mine. it works fine with a route and the 3D view. But with no route it starts zoomed out and stays there whatever speed I do.
Sitting indoors. If I set a route it zooms right in. Delete the route and it zooms out. None of the smart zoom settings appear to affect the amount it zooms out when a route is not set. It behaves, or misbehaves, the same way in 2D or 3D views. _________________ Mio C710 on MioMap 3.3 |

Sorry, I did not notice that you were running 3.3 and I have no experience of this.
I have in the past, fixed probs on my Mio with 3.2 by reloading the software. |

I thought it might have got broken in 3.3. Having said that, I don't recall it ever working on 3.2 either. _________________ Mio C710 on MioMap 3.3 |

My 3.2 does the same. I'll go for a run with no route tomorrow and have a closer look at what happens. I'm sure that it zooms in on a junction that you have sloewd down for, but as I'm not 100%, I'll double check and report back. |

Just been for a quick trip. No route set. Nav screen mode. When stationary, zoom in pretty much. When travelling zoom out. Slow right down for a roundabout- zoom in. The 'In' is not as 'In' as when a route is set (as set by smart zoom settings) even when stationary. And the out does not appear to be as far 'out' as with a route set. If the tilt up is working when going slow, it is not noticeable.
Hope this helps. |

Thanks for the testing, but 3.3 definitely does not zoom without a route as speed changes. :-( _________________ Mio C710 on MioMap 3.3 |
