|
|
Hi All,
Just picked up my new TomTom XL Europe 22 from PC World (Price matched amazon £165) as my PDA with TomTom died at the weekend. I have been playing around with it most of the afternoon (updates etc), but one thing I have noticed is the high frequency hum from the unit. It is not loud, but it is audiable enough to be a pain. I am thinking about taking it back for another one, as I dont think I can handle it. Anyone else had this issue?
Thanks

I have had the original TomTom Go Classic and now the 720 and both have been silent, I don't think it would do any harm to get it exchanged, sounds a bit iffy to me. _________________ TT Go 720 (T)

This has been reported with a number of different devices, dropping the backlight to a lower setting will often reduce/ clear the noise, it shouldn't make the noise so I would take it back - Mike |

Thanks Guys.
I think I will take it back. It isnt loud, but i know it is there. I even called up TomTom, who were very helpful and said that if I am worried take it back too. So that is what I shall do..... Apart from I am going to have to speand a good couple of hours updating the new XL to the latest maps, software etc...
Thanks

And don't forget that with a new device you will have to register it with TomTom using a different e-mail account to the one you used for the defunct device - Mike |
