Been using a Navman for a few years in the car but want something for my walking about now. I've been looking at the cheaper Garmin eTrex H, but have one big question. They all say you can input your destination but none will say whether you can input OS Grid references for waypoints and references. Can anyone help? So confused... Crying or Very sad

Garmin are not my forte, I'm afraid.
I know MOST satnavs only use Lat/Long coordinates, not OS grid.
But if you end up with a unit that runs on a Pocket PC, I came across this converter that also runs on the Pocket PC.

This program converts map and GPS positions. It supports input in WGS84 latitude & longitude; Ordnance Survey (OS) British & Irish grid references; and Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM) worldwide grid references. It can be used with TomTom Navigator, Destinator and OziExplorer to show positions on a map, store them in files and navigate to them.

Hi,
You certainly can enter NGR's into Garmin Etrex. You can either do it directly into the GPS or through software on a PC. The latter is particularly useful if you want to enter a large number of locations. You can also enter waypoints as Lat/Long if you wish.
You can create routes from the waypoints that you have entered.
Cheers
