Hi
Can you help?
I've got a TT one version 3. Yesterday I plugged into the computer to check for any updates. TT home started and said there was a newer version of TT home and I should update it....... so I did.
The computer crashed. The computer says the new version is installed, but the TT one has big issues.
When i turn it on all I get is a red flashing cross. I looked on Tomtoms website and found out how to fix this, but TT home insists that the device is not connected, I click on update my device and it keeps telling me to connect it. But if I just plug it in, after a very long wait it does start TT home (so something is happening)
If I try to open it through windows, after another very long wait it tells me the file is corrupted and it cannot open it.
I've tried the reset button, no help
Have you got any ideas?
I can't do anything with it.

Have you made a backup of the device before this occured? - if so you should be able to re-install that, if not considering that Windows Explorer cannot see the device I would take it back to where you bought it from as faulty - Mike |

Hi
Thanks for the very quick reply.
I'm sure I made a backup, I remember doing it, but I can't find it on the computer.
I've had it less than 3 months. Its done a few strange things in the last 2 weeks..... I thought it must be me. |

Have you opened an account @ www.tomtom.com for that device ?
As you need to do this before TT home will find your tomtom. _________________ TT 500

As it is three months old I would contact TomTom Support in the morning and arrange for it to be repaired under warranty, their UK support number is 0845 161 0009
As it won't connect to the PC via Windows Explorer there is very little that can be done with this - Mike |

Many thanks Mike.
I've already tried them through their online help. Will get on the phone tomorrow.
Back to normal maps for now then |
