This is my first post, although I have owned 3 Tom Tom's. My latest, I bought 2 weeks ago, the 720 I was very pleased with.
I took the Tom cameras off, and installed PGW cameras on and was more than delighted with the results.
Last week I got news of an update, downloaded, and installed overwriting the other cameras in the UK folder.
Strange things happened, I got 3 noises per camera location, even though I had only selected one. also it appeared to be giving me a countdown in metres to the camera locations.
I removed the cameras via Home, and re-installed the update again as per the book.
Now I not only get the three noises per camera, but the unit suddenly flashes "cannot display Map data" or similar, and then shuts down.
The shop has agreed to exchange the unit, prior to installing the cameras again on the new unit, has anyone experienced anything similar with the recent update?

First point = BACKUPS. Remember to do a backup of the new unit, using Windows Explorer BEFORE you do anything else, then again BEFORE (and every time) you do any updating or upgrading.
Remember also, that with the new unit you'll be entitled to Latest Map Guarantee - make sure you get a "receipt" for the exchanged unit, with a current date i.e. after the latest map (v720) was released this week.
Then start the camera download and install again. I have a small suspicion that maybe you downloaded a different set this last time and therefore the new files didn't overwrite the old, but added to them?
Home is NOT the way to install (or remove) PGPSW cameras - you use Windows Explorer all the way. _________________ Dennis
Many thanks for your reply, will take your advice!
I am quite sure I installed the same camera group, but it seemed as though I was getting several camera warnings for each location, but I did check the file in explorer, and the installed files looked the same as the unzipped file direct from PGPS.
There being no adverse comments about the latest update, I will download to the new unit today.
Thanks again, good to know there is help out there!!

It may make things clearer if you connect up to the PC and browse the contents of your named map's folder (probably "Western Europe" in your case).
Again using Explorer, DELETE every file that starts with "pocketgps..." and then re-download and install the latest release of whichever version you prefer (single, type or speedzoned).
Then you will KNOW you only have one version installed.

So far so good. PGPS cameras loaded on the new 720, and working fine.
I noted on the new unit yesterday, that the Tom cameras give a countdown in distance to the camera location, so somehow they must have been still on my old machine, even though I could not see them in explorer. Strange?
