|
|
Hi, I've just got a GO710. I have set all the user definable menu options then added some new voices only to find all the definable options have re-set. This has happened a couple of times, but only when I seem to make a change like add a voice, POI etc. Is this a bug or a dud? _________________ GO 750 LIVE v9.430 - v8.753612 EU map

So does it happen each time you connect to the PC?
I would suspect that the MapSetting.cfg File, in the Map Folder, has a Read-only Attribute set. Right Click the File and check it's Properties.
Or ..... it could be the Switch on the side of the SD Card.
Check those 2 items and hopefully it will work. _________________ Richard

I have only noticed it when changing something like a POI for example. I will have to wait til next week to check out if just connecting it will cause the problem. I have checked the file you mentioned (on the backup) and it isnt read only. I've not touched the SD card so it is as supplied, again I cant check that til next week.
Thanks for your help.... _________________ GO 750 LIVE v9.430 - v8.753612 EU map

Which actual "definable options" are you talking about?
If it is the "warn when near" settings for POIs that are getting lost, then it is a long-standing bug that no-one has ever got to the bottom of.
Some people lose them a lot, others occasionally, others never.
It happens to me occasionally, more often if I connect to the PC or use Home, but certainly not every time. |

The things that go missing are e.g. Show POI on the map, the task bar options. It also resets so that you have to tell it what language, left / right, qwerty or otherwise keyboard options. _________________ GO 750 LIVE v9.430 - v8.753612 EU map

I believe that those options are held in the settings.dat File in the Root of the Device.
It could be that the File is Read-only.
Are you using the V7.162 Software? You could try re-installing it. There might be a problem with one of the files. _________________ Richard
