I have recently installed 2008 maps and did a web update to give software as shown.

I now have a small problem. The unit and maps all seem to work OK except for the Map View in settings. I usually have the unit set to "track up" but I now cannot change to "3D view" or "North up". If I try to change this either the unit goes blank (dark) or I change the view but save or back button will not work.

In both cases if I push the off button it starts again to where I was. ie the route and settings are all there but the map view has not changed.

I don't know if this was caused by the software or map update as I didn't try it until I had done both.

Any ideas?

I have the same set up as you and don't have the issue you do. I normally run 2D track up as well - but it will do "3D" and 2D North Up OK.

I was running 4.30 before I did the upgrade to 2008 mapping.

You may want to try to reset the device to factory settings. Before you do this make sure you have a backup of the unit as some files will be replaced. In reality the main file that goes is CURRENT.GPX which holds all your favourites and home location.

With the unit OFF hold the bottom right hand corner of the screen and press the power on button at the same time. Keep holding the screen and you will be asked if you are really sure you want to reset etc....

After this you can copy back CURRENT.GPX and then reset anything that has changed (like volume/light levels, proximity alerts...) it doesn't take long.

Thanks very much for the tip - now all OK and working.

I did back up current.gpx as precaution but when I reset the unit my favorites and home were still there so I only had to setup some configuration settings.

Your help much appreciated.
