Hello and help!

This is my first post so please bear with me.
I've only had cheap sat navs in the past but wanted to move over to a reputable manufacturer as I've had problems with updates for maps etc.
I've also seen that alot of people manage to personalise their equipment with "skins" or themes, sounds, camera locations, etc and noticed alot of people do this on Mio models, which look great when they've customised them (some clever people out there)
Anyhow, could anyone tell me if a Mio C510e is an ok sat nav system and customisable. Also will there be opportunities to get upgraded maps after a year or so of owning it?
Any other info on this or recommended models worth buying would be greatly appreciated too.
