Walking/Treking/Cycling map recommendations

Hi All,

I've nearly pulled all my hair out searching these forums for a map solution to my walking/treking/cycling needs. I have a SE P1i, TT Navigator 6 installed and working great with my Bluetooth GPS receiver. But as most if not all of you know that TT is for the roads. Anyone out got an idea as to which Map data I can use to help with my needs?

Depends where you are and you budget.
Memory Map is vey good, the only one I would bother with. I am sure there are others, but I tend to stick with things that I know work for me. The cost, although IMHO reasonable, may be an issue for you.

Alternately go to a dedicated unit such as the ones Garmin do. Your budget pretty much decides the features you get. These are definitely prefered for outdoors stuff, bit not so versitile.

As your phone uses the Symbian operating system your software choice will be somewhat limitted, Memory Map will not run on the phone as only PDA and MS based Smart Phones can use this software.
For Ordnance Survey style maps for the phone you have take a look at Viewranger they also do a free trial software download so at least you would know if does what you want before paying out - Mike
