Un-needed Speed camera warnings

Hi.

I'm using a 910 with the v7.162 software and 7.15 maps. I can use my pocketgps cameras as before (with the X2 icons - nice touch that) however, even with 'Only Warn If On Route' selected, if I'm going down a motorway I'm getting GATSO warnings @ 30, 40 mph for cameras that are off route by up to the distance set in the warnings. In the image below, the 40mph GATSO flashes up as a warning even though my route is straight up the motorway (image from the v6 maps in case anyone notices).



Now, I would have thought that the camera would be far enough off route not to flash a warning. I have a POI file of Motorway Services I compiled myself, and if I set a warning for these it only picks up the ones on my side of the motorway, so I suppose I was wondering if theres any reason the cameras seem to behave a bit different? I only have warnings set up for 30,40,50 GATSOs, 50 SPECS and redlight cameras so I know it's not warning me of a bridge mobile camera. Any ideas?

At the moment the Camera in question has no heading!
Perhaps if you could supply MaFt with a heading he could update that camera and perhaps you could try it next time you pass!

it wouldn't make a differene as tomtom is unable to use heading data

only thing i would suggest is enable 'warn when on route' but then you will NOT get any warnings unless you are navigating

Have you got the TomTom cameras activated as well? That looks like the TT icon, not the PGPSW one. I'm unsure what settings are available for that as they were deleted off mine almost straight away.

Although the TomTom is aware of a route that you are expected to take, there is still a possibility that you could leave the motorway at the junction and drive past the camera. You wouldn't be happy if you decided to do that at speed, and then got flashed by a camera you weren't warned about!

The motorway services are different because there is no potential route which could take you past the POI within your warning distance - you would have to go up to the next junction and come back down the motorway again, which will be significantly more than your allotted 300 yards (or whatever).

This is an issue that has got worse with successive software updates from TomTom. It seems they have enlarges the "acceptance area" that is seen as "on-route".
The two worst cases are dual carriageways where there is a small break in the central reservation somewhere near, and motorway junctions.
It seems the entire slip-road and roundabout at the end of it are now seen as part of your "route" even if you are staying on the main motorway.

As I say, it has definitely got worse over the months and years I've had a TomTom, and there's nothing we can do about it.
