Total noob question (720)

New and excited owner Great fun so far.
Is there anyway I can dictate a route and tell the TomTom to guide me that way (and still re-calculate should things not work out). Until now I have used a combination of MS Autoroute, mapbook and scribbled notes on the back of envelopes. I usually know roughly where / which way I want to go. but just need a little help from time to time!!!!
