|
|
Hi,
I have the following setup:
iPaq2210
DConnex 0103
Running Memory-Map OS Edition 2004 on the iPaq, I cant MM and the GPS Receiver to connect.
The GPS info from the DConnex is there as in the DConnex utility running on the iPaq, i get my Lat/Long and satelite details.
I assume I need to go Menu>GPS>Setup and set it to NMEA and Baud of 38400? Port 8 for BT? I do all this and about 5 secs later I get GPS:Communication Timeout.
I know the setup to work because it gave me my position on the loaded OS map earlier today but I cant see what the difference was in the settings.
Thanks

It might be on a different COM port: it's COM6 on my IPAQ 4150.
Alternatively, the Dconnex GPS utility might be hogging the COM port, as the TomTom GPS utility tends to do. Try using Memory-Map after either a soft reset or using the Memory settings utility to kill still-running programs.
Note: with the TomTom problem, COM6 disappears from view entirely and isn't available for selection within Memory-Map. Thus, trial-and-error with the visible ports will never succeed! |

It's most likely that you have a utility running (possibly the DConnex util?) that is already using the Com Port (On the 2210 it's Com8 for BT).
Try a soft reset and then launch Memory-Map. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Thats exactly what it was - I hadnt twigged that you can only run one program per port - makes sense I suppose!
Thanks
