Faceplate for a GO classic?

I managed to drop the wife's GO classic (which I reckon is still a better unit than my ONE XL) on the driveway the other day, and now the faceplate is all chipped and scratched. Faceplates available from Tomtom -- £8.95 plus £6.95 postage!

Of course spares for GO classics aren't too common now. Do the faceplates from a GO 300/500/700 fit? I know that a 700 faceplate fits a 300, but doesn't have the cutout for the SD card (which I never remove anyway). But do any of them fit the GO classic?

I think I remember reading they were similar but not quite the same.
It might just be a razor blade job to convert them.

I'm sure I've seen a post about it a long time ago, either here or on yourNav.com so a good search session might find it.

If you find it works, I might be able to find an old Go 300 faceplate or two.

They are slightly different and won't fit without modification.
