Been driving along to day, using my new gps to get me where i am going, and all of a sudden, the gps reciever stops working, it wont connect to the pda and there was a solid red light on the front where the flashing blue light normally is, it is a tomtom nav2 bluetooth version with a hp iPAQ 1940, and all has been working well.
the gps reciever was not in its cradle but had the charge cable plugged into it from the tomtom car kit cradle. i have been using it like this for a while and it has always been fine before, i have the cradle in my car, but as i use it in many cars i just take the reciever with me.
no matter what i tried i could not get it to work at all, when i got back to my car, i put the reciever in the cradle and connected it all up and it worked fine with no problems.
does the reciever need to be in the cradle all the time? or should it work without it been in the cradle?
also i notice there is a socket on the back of the reciever for an external ariel, does anyone know where i can get one of these from and how much they are? i use it in a land rover, and due to the angle of the windscreen it doesnt seem to be picking many sat's up, but when i have it in a normal car in the same location it picks up many more.
just one more thing, anyone have any idea how i can get the pda to connect to the internet through my Nokia 6600 using bluetooth? i have all the GPRS settings on my phone already.
any help anyone can give me on this would be greatly appreciated.
