thanks, when i do the show link button and then unzip I get the two files for sub category of POI. However, on something like restaurants I get two McDonalds, two Burger Kings etc. I thought that all the restaurants POI woudl be in the one place, so I could just find my nearest one without having to go through them all one by one. |

You are supposed to get two files for each POI - taking McDonalds as the example, you will get McDonalds.ov2, which is the main POI file containing all the data, and McDonalds.bmp, which is purely the icon which is displayed on your TomTom. You need to place both files in your map folder.
If you want all restaurants combined into one POI file, you have to tick the box marked "Combine subcategories into category file". Just don't try to combine more than around 20-25 subcategories at one, as this can cause problems. |

It creates a lot of confusion when you're not able to see what the extension is, if there is one. Don't forget that TT Devices are Linux based and File extensions have totally different meanings when compared to Windows.
In Explorer Tools | Folder Options | View and Untick Hide extension for known file types. _________________ Richard
