I'm assuming you mean you've only got the TomTom cameras at present.
Either way, you have just one volume setting for the device, so you get whatever you set that to, for both navigation instructions and camera warnings.
Two possible solutions.
1. Change the warning sound to something else - Bugle is fairly noticeable.
2. Get the (far better) speed camera database from this site (£19 annual subscription, a bit cheaper than TomTom) and use the free .OGG file warnings which it is possible to change the volume of (using a free download program called Audacity), so that perhaps you'd get polite navigation instructions and loudly yelled warnings. I use a set which has a siren for starters, then the spoken warnings, including telling me what type and speed the camera is for - brilliant. _________________ Dennis

from what i understand, the tomtom database cannot be edited... i've never used them though so maybe wait for someone who has?
if you use ours you can have our own warnings such as spoken text etc

They've changed with the recent v7 stuff. You can now choose the warning distance (time in seconds) and the warning sound - the sound can even be recorded by yourself.
But unlike our 24 types/speeds (not counting the "P" provisional cameras), they have only SIX types.
Fixed safety cameras.
Mobile safety cameras (but you don't seem to get those in the initial free set, only after subscription).
Red light safety cameras.
Toll road safety cameras.
Restricted road safety cameras.
Miscellaneous safety cameras.
I don't know what they mean by the last three. I've got their (free initial set) cameras on my new GO920 and will keep an eye out to see if there's any differences I can spot with the icons - I've seen Fixed and Redlight only, so far. I do, of course, have the PGPSW proper cameras on my GO720 at the other side of my windscreen. _________________ Dennis

Whether they carry over day by day, I don't know. _________________ Richard

Well, my own feeling was that TT already have mobiles and you get a download and updates through subscription. I got the impression that was via GPRS and mobile phone account, but several thousand would be quite some download through your phone every day. And what resources have they put into it anyway? Similar to Mapshare (i.e. very little to judge by the output)? But TT are as usual not over generous in their explanations. And I don't suppose I'll ever know, coz I'm not going to subscribe! _________________ Dennis
