|
|
I have just taken my Go910 off the home dock after updating software and despite the fact that I have reset it several times, it freezes on the start-up screen and in the bottom right-hand corner flashing on and off is a red circle with a white X in the centre.
I have reset it several times, but it is still the same.
Can anyone please help? |

Have you got a full backup of the 910 taken using Windows Explorer? - Mike |

Yes but the problem is, we have just had a new computer on which we downloaded and installed the latest version on TomTom Home, on which I only did one back-up . I have tried a restore using that but it is still the same.
Our old computer with all the other back-ups on it and the previous version of TomTom Home is on our LAN, I have noticed that the back-ups on this machine are over 8GB, whereas the one on the new computer is just over 3GB. |

I suggest you get one of your 8GB backups and copy that to the 910, Home has missed out copying the contents of the Loquendo folder which is why you are 4GB short of data. Without this data on the 910 the Text To Speech will not work.
When you get the backup on the device Home should offer you an update for the new version software, install that and leave the 910 alone on the docking station until the transfer is complete, if you remove the device too early it will corrupt the data. - Mike |

Glad to hear it is working again, please check your computor voices are still working though, if not one of the other moderators has an excellent recovery tool that can undo the damage that Home can cause (Oldboy)
I would suggest you use Windows Explorer to create a full back up of the 910 now it is working on your new PC (assuming of course TTS is working OK) - Mike |
