Hi

My go 510 has stopped booting up since I installed the tomtom explorer program for the custom cursors.

I've followe the instructions on this site to install them & that seemed to go fine.

However once I switched it back on, it get's as far as the splash screen & then hangs.

I've done umpteen resets to no avail, including holding down the power button to get all the text up. So I thought I could restore it using tomtom home backup.

However, as I upgraded my SD Card, TT home isn't allowing me to do so, saying something that was present in the last backup is now missing.

i'm literally at my wit's end, as I'm supposed to be off seeing friends and family over the next week, and it's all on my sat nav.

Please can anyone help?

Thanks
Frank Xerri

I can't see that the custom cursor install would have caused this but lets take it one step at a time.

How did you make the backup? Did you use HOME or as advised here, a direct backup using Explorer? Did you update the GO with any TomTom updates after having taken the backup?

When you connect the GO to your PC does it appear as a disk drive on the desktop?

Hi Darren

I made a backup using home when I brought the maps about a month ago, that's when I got a new SD card, and then I did some updates last night.

When I connect it to the PC the PC does recognise it and I can access it fine.

Do you still have the original SD card? What happens if you boot with that inserted?
