Afternoon...I bought a 360T a couple of months ago and it came with a free 30 day subscription to Cyclops. I was quite happy with it and decided to pay the £30 to continue the subscription but keep getting an error message saying "invalid device. The safety camera database subscription is not compatible with this device". Garmin's support has been crap...so I've decided to use the Pocket GPS system. As a total beginner I'm a bit worried that I might screw things up. Things like what happens to the database on my Nuvi..does the GPS one overwrite it come to mind. I also note that some people use SD cards instead. Any simple advice would be appreciated. |

The PGPSW camera database works slightly differently due to restriction put in place by GARMIN. You would need to disable the GARMIN database - this doesn't remove it - but prevents double warning etc which get very confusing.
The PGPSW databse is implemented as POIs (Points of Interest).
You should copy down the version you need (consolidated, single etc) and unzip into an empty folder on your PC then use POILoader to put them onto your nuvi. Have a look at the help files in the speed camera area for further info.
If you want to use other POIs - no problem - place these into the same directory, in fact creating sub directories for each POI type (eg ATMs) allows you to create a hierarchy of POIs - some people use this as a means of getting a very large number of favourites.
Also - when loading POIs with POILoader it always DELETES the existing file - so you need to keep ALL your POIs (inc cameras) on your PC. _________________ Phil |

I can only recall this for my 660 - my wife has a 310 - but I think it's the same.
From the settings screen (the spanner) select Proximity. Select change and deselect the Cyclops option. _________________ Phil |
