I posted this in another thread, but it seems to have been overlooked.
Having seen what seemed to be mainly good reviews on v7, I updated Saturday afternoon and it took me the best part of a day to get my TT1 working again.
After updating it would not get past the splash screen, nor would it turn off.
I restored from a backup taken 3 weeks ago. That wouldn't work either.
The only way it would turn off was doing a reset.
Eventually I used the original TT1 card (kept safe fortunately), and managed a successful start.
On a fresh SD card I copied the original files, and then gradually one by one transferred the files I needed from the (now) non working card.
Eventually it failed again when I transferred the data.chk file. However restoring the old file didn't work. So I had to start again. Not sure what to do now, so any advice would be appreciated. _________________ Regards

Had a similar problem with my ONE v2. After updating it v7 core a couple of days ago, my TT wouldn't get past the splash screen. However after a couple of hard resets I connected to Home v2.1 and selected the operate my ONE option. After downloading the ddl the simulator started with v7 menus etc. After disconnecting my TT then worked perfectly! |

OK will give that a try, but I'll wait until I've got another SD card working as a trial first! _________________ Regards

My friend and I both have the same unit, I updated mine, she hasn't done hers. I put her sd cardin mine and the unit reverted back to the old version. When I put my card back I found I'd lost the Help me function.
How do I get it back? Is there someway of restoring the unit to the old version and then putting V7 back on?

Kaizac,
Does your unit still have features like mapshare etc? If it does use internet explorer and look at the SD card in your TT. Check that the SDKREGISTRY folder is empty. Any file added here wipes out the "Help Me" features. I think this features, not all it's cracked up to be IMO.
If your TT has reverted back then I would just try and update again.
Good luck. _________________ TVR
