I know this has been talked to death but I'm just trying to get a few things straight in my head.

I bought a nuvi 610T on the 6th Oct 2007 from Comet. I've read in other threads that their may be issues with Comet stock. Has this been confirmed?

The GTM21 is running the latest (as of 8th) firmware.
At home under settings/traffic I can set it to either 'Auto' or 'tm TMC(£)'. Under subscriptions it lists 'TNN (US): 3 Months Subscription' and 'Michelin (FR): Lifetime subscription' Is this normal?

At home with a TMC signal (xfm Scotland I believe) the nearest incident is about 200 miles away. I stay in Fife Scotland but never see any incidents north of the border. What's with that?

In my house I have a signal strength of about 50, as soon as I start driving north towards St Andrews - It loses the signal. Parked in St Andrews I have a signal strength of about 23 with no signal lock. what is the xfm Scotland coverage?

Thanks for any replies

Just heard back from Garmin Europe.

At first they put the poor reception down to location. I then asked about my unit showing 'Michelin (FR): Lifetime subscription'.

Their reply was that Comet was supplied with the wrong units and I should take it back. This is good news as I paid £249 for it when I could have got it for nearer the £200 mark off the web.

Just noticed from my receipt;

I never bought the 610T from Comet. I got it from Currys.

The stores are next to each other and I was in both which explains the confusion.

This means that Currys must have also been supplied with units meant for the French market.
