Hi All
I have raised a service issue with tomtom for the TMC reciever and have now got to the stage where they are sending the box for me to return it so they can send me the V3 reciever BUT they want the reciept and I have searched high and low and cannot find it.
Do you think they will replace it without the reciept?
Here's Hoping

I don't see why they should need a receipt. It is obvious the unit was made by them, it IS obvious it doesn't work, and they promised to "replace the ones that don't work".
However, the way they will see it is that they only have a responsibility to the ORIGINAL purchaser, so this is a way they will try to wriggle out of their moral duty. |

HI Andy,
Andy P, is exactly right here. For the first 12 months it's the retailer you dealt with who has the responsibility to but this right. As for the receipt, accoring to the consumer rights act a copy of your credit card statement showing the store & value is sufficient proof of purchase.
I'd make the issue the shop's problem.
Good luck. _________________ TVR

Will this be the new one with the two suction cups as seen in photos for the Tomtom one 3rd edition?
I can't seem to find one for order anywhere despite Tomtom saying my GPS unit supports it. |

Well I was totally suprised to see a Royal Mail van outside my house this morning with a delivery for me, A new TMC reciever and the early impressions are good.
I did not do much driving today but what I did every trip resulted in a station lock after only about 90 seconds where before I was lucky to get a station lock at all.
I will report back in a week or so but it looks good.

Well it has sorted my problem - previously I never managed to tune in around where I live but with the replacement I was tuned in with traffic data before I was back home efter picking it up at the sorting office!
