I have a Tom Tom One Regional One UK + have bought the Western Europe Maps 6.5 (official DVD). Try as I might I cannot get this to load on to a new 2GB card either in the Tom Tom unit or in a card reader. Also on the occassions I get as far as an activation code the one supplied with the DVD is not accepted and I am referred to ttcode.com.
Is there a turorial on this anywhere - preferably an idiots guide as I am felling like one at present |

The card that came with the DVD is the Product Code, you have to enter that into www.ttcode.com, it will also ask for a Device Code, this is the code that is specific to your hardware, as part of the registration process the TomTom One will display this.
When both codes are entered into the ttcode web site it will generate an activation code, you type this into the TomTom to register your map, after this it can be used - Mike |

OK - so the 2 stage process is normal then - thanks Mike.
My second problem is that I repeatedly get the message that there is insufficient space to unpack the compressed installation file.
I have tried doing this direct to the Tom Tom with a fresh 2GB card and also to an external (via USB) hard drive with 7GB free.
Can the installation file really need several GB to work ?? |

This is a known issue, I usually copy the map to the PC's hard drive rather than running the installation from the DVD - I find this worked better when I encountered a similar problem - Mike |
