|
|
Hi,
Colonel 69 here. I submitted a new camera location back in May and so far cannot see that it's been added to the database and I have no acknowledgement from you guys that it has been accepted.
Did I do something wrong? I have read the FAQ section but it doesn't explain much to me.
Regards

What type of camera?
If a Mobile one it might have been verified yet. |

Nah, was a fixed Gatso. Also anyone an idea how you can unload the existing files on the Navman F20.
I have plenty of room but I just wondered if you can delete the existing files or overwrite them as it's starting to look a bit cluttered when I select which POI's I want to display.

Sorry for sounding cynical, but how do I know it wasn't the first?
If it wasn't the first submission, how come it's still not shown on your database? _________________ TomTom Start 25 for The Colonel |

I got my lifetime membership and I did not believe I was the first submission, but that shows to me that the Pocket GPS World, do give the membership out and are fairly as well _________________ TomTom Go 700,

I was cynical at first but it was totally wrong of me to be. I have got a life membership and also won a competition prize recently.
Just keep plugging away and I'm sure you'll get there, don't forget the criteria have changed, so in theory it should be easier to get life membership.
Good Luck

Is it a 30 mph GATSO on the A259 Chichester Road? Near the crossing with Loats Lane? |

this camera was activated on 12th march 2007 and has been shown on the database since then. the first submission was: 2007-03-03 10:41:41 by the user 'bbcars' who received their lifetime membership at 2007-03-23 16:34:42 after the release of 5.034.
your submission was at 2007-05-28 16:10:39 - about 2 months after it was activated in our database.

Thanks for taking the time to go through this for me. I'm obviously not interpreting the map correctly. I'll go on camera hunting and let you know when I find another new one.
Thanks soldier....... _________________ TomTom Start 25 for The Colonel |

what browser do you use? i know that firefox 1.5 fails to show the camera icons on the map but from 2.0 this was fine. you also need to be zoomed in to '2000ft / 1km' on the zoom level (top 5 zoom levels) for icons to show

Using IE 8.0. I can see a red 30MPH sign but not a camera icon. Maybe that's what I'm supposed to see. Is this the correct icon for a fixed Gatso? _________________ TomTom Start 25 for The Colonel |

Yes. Click on it and look the bottom left of the map and you'll see GATSO:29845@30 which means it's a GATSO, with database ID 29845 and the speed limit is 30 mph.
By the way where did you get IE 8.0 from? Microsoft have only released IE7.0 recently??? |
