Has anyone tried this new SatNav from Maplin? They seem to have stopped selling the Aytobe that was able to also run TomTom software with a bit of tweaking (search for thread if you're interested). You can see it here. Do you think this can be made to run TomTom too? |

The software looks like Smart2Go which isn't great but if you can access the underlying OS then there is scope to install other software.
I'd have to question why bother though when a ONE costs only £30 more? _________________ Darren Griffin |

My swift answer would be because £30 is 33% extra.
I'm on tight budget, but I really like the TT software.
Rather than risk the ebay/car boot sale options for a genuine TT, if I can get a working GPS with TT software for undet £100 that would suite my needs.

And you have a legitimate copy of TomTom already? That is extra cost to the base unit. Even then you don't end up with a GO equivalent.
However you might end up with a pseudo PND that can run other PocketPC apps which I admit would be nice! _________________ Darren Griffin |
