Just a quick heads up to any Mapopolis users who might have missed it - the pocketgps speed camera database now includes a Mapopolis mlp format version.
A big thank you to all those involved in including this, from a very happy Mapopolis user.
Cheers,

I'm probably blind, but I couldn't see the link for Mapopolis .MLP files from this page: http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/uksafetycameras.php
I have converted a .ov2 file to .MLP and have copied it across to my smartphone (i-mate sp3i). When running Mapopolis the speed cameras show up just like any other location (a bland circle). I have a .bmp of a speed camera, but don't know how to assign this symbol to all the gatsos?
Anyone help?
Graham

Hi G_Man74uk,

If you unzip the "pocketgps_uk_sc_dec05" zip file and look in the "single file version" folder, you’ll see the another folder called "mlp" which contains the "pocketgps_uk_sc.mlp" file.
I couldn’t see a speed-zoned version.

Is this MLP format supported by the Palm OS version or is it just for Pocket PC? |

The most recent version seems to have lost its "category" - is there something I am missing? This is a bit of a blow when in the past I have been rather reliant on my Mapopolis proximity alerts! |

I think it is for Palm OS and PocketPC versions, but I'm no expert. You could try asking on the Mapopolis forum at:
www.gpspassion.com
They tend to have a fair bit of traffic - I don't think there are many Mapopolis users here

I have been following this thread for several days now and no one is answering the original question. How do I get my Mapopolis maps to give me a warnig of a Speed camera. I have the latest .mlp downloaded and installed, the cameras are there visually but no proximity warnings. Can someone please answer the original post. Ken Durkin

I have been using Mapopolis for a while and it's very good. I have just purchased a one month Speed Camera update and I now have the same problem in that it doesn't have the camera tag and hence you can only put it in the 'any' categorie and it then fires off on all POI. rendering it useless. Has anyone cracked this issue? Obviously as it worked before it's a problem with Pocket GPS. |

I'd also like to be able to use this download properly - just having this information in any category doesn't help, and for it to work it surely needs a camera option?
Any ideas or solutions gratefully accepted!!!! 2 Mapopolis users keen to use this informationj properly!!! |

If any Moderators are in touch with this forum I would like to ask you to urgently resolve this issue and restore the ' Camera Tag' to the Mapopolis single file as their are many owners out there who want to continue using Mapopolis over the next few years. I think it's very unfair to continue taking money from subcribers for a product that is inoperable. |
