how acurate are the tomtom speed cameras for france and spain?
I have used alertgps files for france before, but to be honest I switched them off after a while because nearly every bridge over an autoroute had a warning! very annoying when driving 800 miles.
also if you speed on a paege they have your entry and exit time and can work out your average speed anyway, so not worth it.
Just very handy for non toll roads.
Also, I once read about it being illeagal to have a satnav on the windscreen in spain, is this still so?

I don't know about tom tom french cameras as I don't use TT ones, but I can say that, unfortunately, the PGPS french ones seem extremely limited, the database directory only shows 76 cameras for the whole of France
The best one IMHO is the French database from GPS Passion
Drove down through France and Spain last month with my GO700 on the screen - no problem.
I used the www.scdb.info/en/ files. You have to pay a small amount but they seemed good. If you select the countries you want from the list (Ctrl click?) they will download as one file and save space on the 100 PoI limit.
I think the timing between toll booths on the autoroute is a myth..... _________________ TTGO 700 (dead)

I think so too, else I would have loads of tickets by now. 8)
I tried the gpspassion ones last month. On Autoroutes practically every layby was alerted as a potential mobile speedcam so we turned the 130kph ones off because it was very annoying.
