|
|
Having just purchased a F20 and T1 pack I am curious on how Re-routes and detours work. I found a traffic incident which recommended a detour. I deliberately planned a route which would hit that problem but there was no hint of a reroute. Does the Navman wait to you get fairly close to the incident before recommending the reroute or is it possible I have a problem. I should say I didn't actually drive the route I was just experimenting with setting routes where I knew there was a problem just to see what action Navman would take.

Hi Ken,
Reroutes are based on a number of factors. When in the settings for the T1 there is an option to allow the T1 to automatically reroute around a problem. It will reroute:-
If the problem suggests so.
If it is phisically able.
If a new route will provide a better route.
Fact is that until the TMC system is more reliable, the choice is yours!
Follow it or ignore it. _________________ Dom

Thanks Dom. So if I have it set for 'warnings' then do I still get the option to reroute. Sorry for the dumb questions but I guess the T1 manual was also written by someone pretty dumb because it doesn't explain things at all well so I'm hoping to get information from users who have practical experience of how things work.

If you don't use auto reroute, then if you select a warned route you will see the screen calculate a new route then show you a button to press saying 'avoid'.
Dumb answer: If you press the 'avoid' button, it will avoid the warned route.
Just take the blue pill and all will be well in the morning. :D _________________ Dom
