Speed Camera Accuracy

I caught the tale end of a story a couple of weeks or so ago that I believe was on LBC where a person had written to the manufacturers of a speed camera and was told that they could not guarantee the accuracy of the camera to within less than 7 mph. Did anybody else hear this story? If so can you tell me where I can find the full facts.

It would be lovely if that story about the accuracy was actually true - everyone could challenge their convictions and have them quashed.

Unfortunately the devices are all type approved by the home office and the accuracy and reliability is carefully checked. You can bet your licence on that....
